Odd Shot April 25

Well my odd shot picture today comes from our recent trip to Fort Rodd Hill.  This is the picture on the wall in the new renovated washrooms.   Lets see I had a sinking feeling when I was in there.  Or All good ships must go down.    Or I'm sure you can come up with a good saying too. Leave it in the comments section.   And check out Katneys Kaboodle
for more odd shots.

I will post more pics from our Fort Rodd Hill  trip in the next few days .  stay tune

Out of commision

Well its been a few days since my last blog. And that is because Ive been laid up with the flu.  Started suddenly monday nite in bed and all night and the next day it was bed to toilet, bed to toilet , then couch to toilet you get the picture .  It wasn't pretty.

Unfortunately I missed a round of golf with some buddies and barely was able to watch the collapse of my canucks on Tuesday nite.  Wed was a bit better but still not good most of the day.  Monday nite went out for a bit with my wife as we had planned something but felt worse this morning.    Still have some lasting effects but hoping tomorrow and Easter weekend will see me back to normal.

Then I can post again.

Heading to the Airport

Well I'm not heading for the Airport today or tomorrow or in the near future. But I was wondering about the new McTavish Interchange.  It opened last saturday.

I was thinking maybe I should take a look online to see what the design really looked like in case there were some surprises in store.   I found it although confusing at first glance, It looks pretty simple to navigate.    With a few roundabouts now in Langford , If people just take turns it works out great.   Remember I said If they take turns.  So here is an animation of the interchange.  Highway 17 Mctavish interchange
Give it a look and see so when you travel it at least you have some idea of where you are going or what to expect.

Till then.  maybe see you at the airport

Stanley Cup

Well its time for the Stanley Cup playoffs.  The long marathon of hard played hockey. Some call it divorce time in Canada. But it just shows how passionate Canadians are for their hockey.

Well is this the year for Vancouver Canucks.  40 yrs in the NHL and we have yet to win the cup.  We have come close twice , reaching the finals.  One even went to 7 games against the Rangers in 94.

Well all the experts predict the Canucks to win the cup.  All the Canuck fans are expecting it.  Even the players showed it by winning the most points in the regular season.

Now with key injured players back from injury, they are all set to do it.  But that's why we play the games.  They have to earn it not just want it and have a good regular season.  But they must endure that long playoff  struggle.

Well I think they will do it.  I'm hoping for them to win. But I have been hoping for this for 40 yrs.  But I believe this is their best chance.  Even better than in 94.

What do you think.   Leave a comment.     Go Canucks

Ten Mile walk

No I didn't go for a ten mile walk.  At least I don't think it was that far.  But my wife and I went for a walk at Ten Mile Point.
We started out in Cadboro Bay at Gyro park.  that's were 4 of these pictures were taken.

The first is of a uncovered old
water pipe.  Hard to guess how old it is but I would say going on 80-100 yrs.  Then the kids park with old Caddie in the foreground and the Olympic mountains in the back ground.
The next picture is of a sculpture up in a yard of a very nice house taken from the
beach. Don't you wish you lived there with the great view of the water and mountains?
Next is just one of the beach with all the dog walkers getting their last months fun on the beach before its closed to dogs.

We walked down ten mile point and stopped at smugglers cove to watch a guy put in his kayak.  Then had a friendly dog share our cookies with him.

On the walk back we stopped at the look out on Arbutus rd and enjoyed the view of the Juan de Fuca strait.   The weather was great and its a pre taste of the spring and summer yet to come.   Well till then enjoy what good weather you can.  Time to cut the grass soon.

What to do on a rainy morning

Yes it was a rainy morning and I had to drop something off at Bear Mountain. We decided to have coffee at the The Mountain Bean, up there at Bear Mountain.  It was a very nice cozy spot.  Having coffee and my wife having tea we just relaxed by the fireplace and enjoyed being inside during this wet cool day.

Have you ever been up at Bear mountain?  Have you ever been in the coffee shop there?  I suggest some time its a great place to just relax and enjoy the nice atmosphere they have there in the coffee shop.   Lets meet for coffee there sometime?  Invite me ,  you can buy the coffee too if you like.

See you there sometime
